Jade is Commonly known as Jade Tree Plant, jade plant, friendship tree, lucky plant or Money Plant in Feng Shui. This is my jade baby with beautiful green wide spreaded shiny leaves.
Generally, the most popular feng shui plants are evergreen plants with round, heart-shaped, thick and succulent looking leaves. Leaves are in rich jade green colour, some may appear to be more of a yellow-green in colour.
Jade plants are beautiful and you can grow them in your home. The jade plant is a popular indoor plant grown primarily for its lustrous green leaves. This low-maintenance plant can live a long time, taking on the appearance of a miniature tree. By regular trimming of this plant gives more beauty to house.
Problems with pests:
I lost my plant without knowing about its fallen leaves disease.
In order to make your jade plant as beautiful it is important to know how to address and treat some common problems with your jade plant. You may notice that your jade plant is losing leaves or that its leaves are dropping off. Address is in early stage.
There are really only four insects that seem to infect Jade plants. They are mealy bugs, root mealy bugs, scale, and spider mites. The pests most likely to cause a white, sticky substance are aphids, whiteflies, scale or mealybugs. These are known to affect jade plant. They won't destroy plants, but can weaken them.
When grown outdoors, jade plants require warm, dry weather to avoid frostbite and root rot. so less is more when watering. Although jade plants may need a little more water in the spring and summer months, watering only once a week.
Is jade plant bloom?
Yes, it is. So many have this doubt. Jade plants flower when they are about 5 to 8 years old. We be patient and watch them. A flowering jade plant stands for growth and prosperity. Jade plants symbolise friendship, prosperity, and growth.
Under the right conditions, they may produce small white or pink star-like flowers in early spring. I haven't seen it in my plant but I had read about it.
Healthy growth of jade plant:
Jade plants store moisture in their plump, thick leaves and do not require a great deal of water to survive. In fact, there is a greater danger of providing too much water than of not providing enough. To grow jade plants outdoors, choose an area that gets about 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight. Water jade plant when the soil is almost completely dry to the touch but not so dry it pulls away from the pot's edge.
Jade plants don't need much fertilizer. During the growing season, give jade plant an occasional low dose of fertilizer to keep it green. As your plant grows, it will become increasingly important to choose wide, heavy-bottomed pots to accommodate it. Jade plants tend to grow top-heavy and can easily tip in lighter pots.
If the edges are beginning to look shriveled or wrinkled, that is a sign of moisture stress in the plant. The main cause of this problem is typically underwatering.
The care and maintenance of jade plants is how much sun they receive. They need full sun in order to grow properly. They need to be placed at least once in a week in full sun for healthy growth.
Propagation:
Propagating a jade plant is as simple as taking one leaf from a healthy, matured plant and sticking it in soil. grows well in sandy, well-drained soils and full sun, but also tolerates some partial shade. You can propagate jade plants in both water and soil.
If you’re using a stem cutting you can use both methods. If you’re using a leaf, it’s best to stick with soil. If you’re using the leaf, make sure you have the entire leaf, including the part that’s attached to the stem. For stem cuttings, they should be at least 3-4 inches long.
I really love succulent plants especially jade plants. I was done this leaf and stem propagation and got 2 more jade plants. Some people have taken stems from my jade plant and they too grown big.
Caution:
Jade plants should be kept out of the reach of pets since they can be toxic to animals.
Thank you 💚
